Including Non-source Items
We recently created two maps using Scopus data from 1996-2011. One map included only source items (papers indexed by Scopus), while the other included cited non-source items along with the source items. Thus, cited un-indexed items such as articles from regional journals, conference papers and books, were included in the map. The two maps are shown below. The source-only map contains 19 million items, while the non-source map contains a total of 43 million items, 22 million of which are non-source items.
